USAF Pararescue Association / PJ Rodeo 2016 Challenge Coin

The Pararescue (PJ) Rodeo is held in conjunction with a Pararescue Reunion bi-annually in different locations across the US. The 2016 USAF Pararescue Reunion/Rodeo will be in Indialantic, Florida, hosted by the Patrick AFB Pararescue Team. Events will be held at Crown Plaza, 2605 North Hwy A1A, Indialantic, FL 32903.

The Reunion and Rodeo has been taking place for the past 10 years. The Pararescue Reunion and Rodeo is a gathering of former and current USAF Pararescumen/PJ's. These prolific "warfighters" have a storied history rich in heroic deeds on and off of the battlefield. Every two years the PJ brotherhood rejoins to celebrate and to remember their fallen teammates. In addition to this celebration the current Pararescue force host a friendly but tough competition know as the PJ Rodeo. The Rodeo events are designed to test the skill, tactics, techniques and procedures the current USAF PJ's are employing on the battlefield today.  The winning team will hold the title "Best PJ" until the next Rodeo in 2018.

USAF 54th ARS / Heritage Patch

USAF 54th Air Rescue Squadron / Wings of Mercy / Heritage Patch 4.5"

A beautiful patch made in 2012 as a heritage item from this old unit activated by MATS in the early 1950s at Goose Bay, Labrador and equipped with SB-17Gs and SB-29s as a component of the Air Rescue Service. Re-equipped with SC-54Ds and SA-16s during the mid 1950s and operated these until deactivated in 1966 following the USAF's withdrawal from Goose Bay.

This new reproduction matches perfectly one the most wanted and hard to find patches in my collection.

-"This patch was originally for the Maintenance Personnel Of the Year (MPOY). So the MX Lt at the time came down with a word document with clip art layered over itself asking if anyone could draw. Nobody in our shop could so I said my wife was pretty good. He immediately jumped at that and started giving me the rundown on what he wanted. Then after a few sketches. This patch is what came to be."-
