Welcome to The USAF Rescue Collection Blog!

My story is very simple. I´m a Mountain/USAR rescue specialist and I´ve been doing this for over 15+ years since I left the Spec. Ops. community. One day a fellow PJ from other team gave me a challenge coin of his unit and there was when I thought - "Why do not collect items from the finest CSAR team in the world, the USAF PJ's?¨ and that's how all started...

I am a humble collector that offers his leisure time to serve as a rescue specialist in an NGO absolutely for free. So buy an item is really a luxury for me, even more, when I have to import them from many places in the world and so far away like for example Australia, Hong Kong, Canada, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Germany and the U.K in order to have a complete collection as possible.

Other than what I received from my friends in the teams, many of my patches were acquired later during the late 1980’s and early 1990’s and other ones still being added to my collection today. I would attend gun shows, militaria shows, state sales, yes and even yard sales. Most of my collection has been in my possession for decades with others bought from reputable, reliable dealers over the years. All my collection are original patches made in the USA, South-East Asia, Afghanistan and more. I have several patches that I have doubles for, meaning handmade and/or machine embroidered, and even variations of the same design; so if there is any particular unit you are looking for, there is a good chance I might have it.

The intention of this blog is to share my passion and pride for the incredible work of these men does, showing this small collection of both official issue/morale patches, badges/flashes and challenge coins of PJ/Pararescuemen and USAF Rescue Wings/Squadrons to all fans around the globe.

Got a challenge coin related? Any patch? A Pin? Want to sell or trade? Write me putting your email and tell me what you have. I am interested in buying and thanks to you; you can help me to complete the largest PJ's item collection in the world and help me to share my passion for this amazing rescue teams to all on the Internet. Of course, I accept any donations and I am willing to send you as a gift my team patch from my rescue unit for your gratitude.

My collection is open to everyone who wants to see it or know more about the USAF's Rescue Squadrons/Units history. That´s the idea: Share what I have and what I know about this collection to everyone interested.

Thanks for your visit and hope you enjoy my humble collection, made of 100% with much love and effort.

HooYah!

FGR.

WARNING: I DO NOT SELL ANY OF MY ITEMS. This is a private collection. Thanks.

  5. Please contact me. I have a question about a patch I have on my website and was wondering if you could identify it for me. It's located at this url http://www.rotorheadsrus.us/documents/256.html and is the center patch at the bottom of the page. I suspect this is from the 31st or 33rd Air Rescue & Recovery Squadrons during the late 60's or early 70's as both of these units had HC-130's (King's), HH-3E's, HH-53's (Jolly Greens) and HH-43's (Pedro's). eastbayjim@earthlink.net

  10. Hello – I’m looking for some information about a Pararescue jacket that I purchased recently and was wondering if you might be able to help me. I posted pictures of it on U.S. Militaria Forum that can be found here;

    http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/180803-need-help-with-parajumper-jacket-information/

Specifically, I’m wondering about approximate manufacture and usage dates, in what situations the jacket may have been used, if it was a common piece of gear, and where I might be able to find any pictures of PJ’s wearing this jacket.

Any help or information you are willing to provide is greatly appreciated. My email is MFP2241@embarqmail.com.

    Thanks - Rick

  11. Rick,

I looked at the picture of the jacket. That was what we called a "Tree Suit" The Jacket had velcro inside to attach padding. We wore those when we were parachuting into trees. In addition to the jacket, there was a set of trousers with padding and a crotch strap. We used them in the early 80's and I would guess they still are in use. Smoke Jumpers use them as well.

  13. So glad that you are military! I was afraid it was going to be a civilian playing RESCUE in their heads. Anyways, I ran across your page while looking for the perfect green feet to put on a picture frame. I found a picture frame that says "my family is a rescue family". It's supposed to be for a dog but I was planning on putting a HH-60g pic in it then painting green feet on the frame. That's much cooler than my dog. However, I'm now thinking that I could put in a few 33rd patches. I have a cool one I got in the PI that is OEF. It may go instead.
Oh, and I absolutely love the Blues Brothers Patch. That is badass. Keep up the good fight. STOML.

Is the Life Support Equipment patch PF/Jolly Green insignia?

I just picked up another one. Two summers ago I sold the BEMO one that you contacted me about.
