USAF Pararescue / Saved by Pedro Challenge Coins - Poker Chips

USAF Pararescue / Saved by Pedro Challenge Coins - Poker Chips
These Poker chips are used by the USAF’s Pararescue Teams in Afghanistan. All four chips are about 1.75" in diameter and are made in a nice heavy ceramic.  All say "Saved by Pedro". These Coins are used by teams who rescue downed aircrews in combat, not easy item to find…  These came from a Marine who traded with several of the crews during his deployments to Helmand, Afghanistan. Great collector’s piece!
Got information about it? Got it? Want to sell or trade? Contact me below (comments) with your email address and I´ll get back to you ASAP! Thank you!

  4. Hi Colin. I imagine you sold yours ages ago. However, if you still have it, I'd be happy to buy it off you. I embedded with surgical teams at Camp Bastion during the summer of 2011, and saw many Pedro crews drop off their casualties, and leave them with one of these coins. cheers mark

  8. Gents Ladies, Can anyone help me. In short I am a UK soldier and a colleague of mine wad VSW in Afghanistan back in 2012. He was shot in the head. I called the CASEVAC in that day and a long story short all UK air frames where on other serious CASEVACs. I thought no one was coming for him and we were pinned down. After speaking with the OC on our difficult dilemma we heard the rotors and blatting of a US Blackhawk, I cannot tell you how my heart was lifted. We popped smoke and put my friend on the chopper. I am pleased to tell you he is still alive and well. I write this blog in hope that I can recover his coin. He has asked me repeatedly if I or anyone knew where his was. Its been over 4 years and I feel compelled to get him one back. If anyone can assist please could they respond to this blog. Thanks in advance and to the crew and the crews that saved my friends and brothers in arms lives. Thank you, you were angels in the sky.

  11. Sorry to resurrect this but caught a Pedro out of Saidabad on 14th Jan 2011 after a bad day. Always heard of challenge coins but seems mine was liberated from my kit. Anyone know if I can find one?
