This rare and hard to find heritage 56th HMU patch who is part of the 56th Rescue Squadron / 48th Operations Group / 48th Fighter Wing at RAF Lakenheath, UK. The 56th RQS flu Search and Rescue support to the Iceland Defend Force from May 1988 to September 2006. The 56th RQS will relocate to Aviano air base in Italy starting 2018. This 56th HMU Björgunarsveitin (Rescue) team patch reflects back to the days when the 56th RQS patch was at the station at Naval Air Station in Keflavík, Iceland. Really hard to find patch set. UK made in very small quantities.
