  1. This patch was originally started in Camp bastion, Helmand, Afghanistan, back in October 2010. CSAR maintenance crews came up with the Burro patch because of the amount of maintenance we were doing to keep the helicopters flying, sometimes up to 12 sorties in a 12-hours period, all while fixing battle damage repairs and turning the aircraft back out the same day. Maintenance carried the Pedro mission on their backs, keeping the Pave hawks ready on alert for the duration of our deployment without the single cancellation of a mission due to grounded aircraft or maintenance issues. Without the experience of our battle tested maintenance crews, the mission would not have been as successful as it was. I do not recall the amount of saves but it was a lot. I still have some original patches and coins from that deployment, as well as others.
