Honoring those who gave their lives in Roberts Ridge.
These are being sold to raise money for The Roberts Ridge Foundation.
Began The Roberts Ridge Foundation this past year as an effort along with The Benjamin Foundation and Fallen Hero Bracelets (two other nonprofit organizations which work towards other efforts) to work towards raising money for the children of soldiers who have lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan. This foundation is focused in offer financial assistance to the children of soldiers who have lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan. As stated we are still in our infancy, but our hope at this time is to be able to offer help through scholarships for college, or other educational purposes, financial aid for medical procedures, and simply to be able to provide the children of fallen heroes the benefits of being able to fulfill their wishes and dreams while recognizing the pivotal role that those heroic figures played not only in their lives, but in our nation's history. The goal is to NEVER FORGET.
The front of this coin has the St. Hubertus symbol commonly worn by Pararescue Jumpers (PJs). The Roberts Ridge Foundation was formed in honor of SrA Jason Cunningham, a USAF PJ who revitalized the entire school of thought on Pararescue Jumping by bringing blood into the combat zone. The Roberts Ridge Foundation honors and memorializes all seven of the heroes lost at Takur Ghar, but given Cunningham's PJ status, the symbolic focus of the challenge coin has been centered on the Pararescue Jumper, to which they adopted the motto of the Pararescue Jumper "That Others May Live" and the St. Hubertus Symbol.
The back of the coin provides detailed images of the units involved at Roberts Ridge, from which all seven heroes perished. It also provides the names of all seven heroes. These are a limited edition run.
Used in the field by many PJ's, this coin shows the St. Hubertus image. Saint Hubert was widely venerated in the Middle Ages and partly because of his noble birth several military orders were named after him: the Bavarian, the Bohemian and that of the Archbishop-Elector of Cologne. Also, this patch shows the world famous logo of the Jägermeister herbal liquor (well venerated by the troops as well!), but perhaps the real meaning reveals the ¨Crusader¨ or ¨Infidel¨ meaning hidden on the cross.

The 336th Training Group is a United States Air Force group with the mission to provide Air Force survival training. The group is located at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington, with one subordinate unit at Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL, and one at Eielson Air Force Base, AK. The unit's historical lineage goes back to the 336th Bombardment Group which was a World War II United States Army Air Forces training organization. It served in the United States during World War II.
The 336th TG operates the United States Air Force Survival School. The school provides instruction in Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) training primarily to aircrew members and also CRO's, PJ's, CCT's. Instruction concentrates on the principles, techniques, and skills necessary to survive in any environment and return with honor.
The 22d Training Squadron conducts combat Survival Training, which all Air Force aircrew members must attend. The 66th Training Squadron conducts the SERE Training Instructor Course. This is a five-and-one-half-month program designed to teach future survival instructors how to instruct aircrew members to survive in any environment. The non-ejection water survival course trains aircrew members of non-parachute-equipped aircraft. The resistance training orientation course covers the theories and principles needed to conduct Level C Code of Conduct resistance training laboratory instruction. The SERE training instructor, 7-level upgrade course. This 19-day course, conducted annually, provides 5-level instructors with advanced survival training in barren Arctic, barren desert, jungle, and open-ocean environments.

This is a rare and nice large sized patch!
Thule Air Base is the U.S. Armed Forces' northernmost installation, located 750 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Thule's arctic environment offers some of the most spectacular scenery found anywhere in the world, including majestic icebergs in the North Star Bay, the massive polar ice cap and Wolstenholme Fjord--the only place on earth where three active glaciers join together.
Thule Air Base is home to the 21st Space Wing's global network of sensors providing missile warning, space surveillance and space control to North American Aerospace Defense Command and Air Force Space Command. Thule Air Base is also home to the 821st Air Base Group and is responsible for air base support within the Thule Defense Area for the multinational population of "Team Thule." The base hosts the 12th Space Warning Squadron who operates a Ballistic Missile Early Warning System designed to detect and track ICBMs launched against North America. Thule is also host to Detachment 1 of the 23rd Space Operations Squadron, part of the 50th Space Wing's global satellite control network. In addition, our modern airfield boasts a 10,000-foot runway and more than 3,000 U.S. and international flights per year. Finally, Thule is home to the northernmost deep water port in the world.
